Strategic partners ElringKlinger and hofer powertrain jointly develop and produce highly efficient electric drive units (EDUs). Customized solutions are implemented under the hofer powertrain products brand: high-volume or smale-scale production, complete system or integration of individual modules, standard system or individual configuration.  

Our range covers everything from large-scale serial production through to small batches for standard applications or deployment in the luxury and performance segments. Our portfolio includes system integration, electric machines, power electronics, control software, transmissions, thermal management/cooling, and safety concepts.

For ElringKlinger this means that we can work with our customers to realize optimum end-to-end solutions that meet their specific requirements. Drawing on our expertise in battery technology, processes, and manufacturing methods, together with the engineering capabilities of hofer powertrain, we are committed to achieving specified targets quickly and efficiently. By taking an all-embracing approach to the entire energy conversion chain in the vehicle, we are able to exploit the full potential of such projects in respect of cost, quality, and system behavior.

Alongside customized high-end solutions, we also offer end-to-end solutions based on standardized modules. At the same time, the concepts we offer can incorporate customer-developed components. For example, we can integrate parts produced by our customers directly or by their suppliers – creating a complete, fit-for-purpose drive unit. Modular and flexible.
